QSFP+SR4 optical transceivers respectively per channel

The QSFP+SR4 optical transceivers leverage AOI's proprietary silicon photonics-based optical engine technology, including laser and photodiode/pre-amp arrays to support multichannel links. The modules are interoperable with other 40GBase-SR4 QSFP+ and QDR transceivers and support reaches of 300 m over OM3 multimode fiber, AOI says.
To complement the standalone transceivers, AOI also has introduced 40-Gbps active optical cable assemblies (AOCs) for data centers and core network applications. The AOCs come pre-configured with a pair of 40G transceivers or can be delivered with four individual SFP+ 10G serial ports for data centers in transition.QSFP+ cables provide a high density, high bandwidth, cost effective solution for a variety of markets and applications including switches, routers, HBA’s, high performance computing and mass storage sub-systems by mfr’s such as IBM, Cisco, qLogic, etc. QSFP+ cables are designed for data rates up to 40Gb/s supporting Fibre Channel, Ethernet, SDH/SONET and Infiniband standards. The ExpressPort QSFP+ E-Series and H-Series connector families are rated to 28 Gbps and 40 Gbps respectively per channel (4x28), featuring a stamped and formed contact design providing improved mechanical durability. This connector features an integrated grounding structure and resonance dampening features for superior crosstalk performance. The contact design is optimized for a smooth
impedance pro le resulting in improved SI performance.
